FRIENDS OF THE LONG CENTER

Inspired by founding member Vickie Roan to make the dream of a performing arts center a reality, Notable Women is a group of philanthropic women who “for the cost of a latte a day” raised $1.3 million for the capital campaign and thereby established a new Austin standard for collaborative fundraising success. Membership is ongoing, as this group plans to support programming excellence by organizing the Long Center's annual birthday party fund raising event. Members pledge $1,200 a year. The founding members of this group are permanently recognized on the West Grand Staircase at the Long Center >>

Friends of the Long Center Project
Many individuals came together to be a part of the founding capital campaign to open the Long Center. The Long Center owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to these groups, most specifically:
Circle of Friends - a visionary group of African-Americans who enthusiastically embraced the mission of the Long Center. Members of this group have been recognized on a plaque in the Long Center >>
Padrinos de las Artes - a group that led fund raising initiatives for the Long Center, and helped promote inclusion and awareness in Austin's Hispanic community. Members of this group have been recognized on a plaque in the Long Center >>
