Annual Members receive advance notification of special programming, access to performances and special events, and exclusive opportunities to enjoy pre and post show receptions, all while supporting the Long Center. As a non-profit, community-owned arts facility, the Long Center operation is designed for a break-even annual budget. Presenting income, ticket sales, and rental fees will provide 70% of annual revenue. The Long Center will rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations — our entire community — to ensure programming excellence, community outreach, and a balanced operating budget.
While ticket sales are important, charitable gifts help the Long Center:
1. Keep ticket prices reasonable to attract the widest possible audiences
2. Present extraordinary, diverse performances, fresh productions, and cutting-edge new work
3. Provide a permanent performance home for Austin's ballet, opera, and symphony
4. Offer complimentary tickets to underserved audiences & discounted tickets to students and seniors
5. Give over 150 small and emerging performing artists a world-class performing space
With our Grand Opening this past March, the Long Center has brought new life to our arts community, igniting the passions of performing groups, and people from all over Central Texas, transforming Austin's cityscape, and supporting the revitalization of downtown. The Long Center is poised to become one of the nation's premier cultural showplaces--a world-class facility that is nonetheless completely and uniquely Austin.
